The
Campomulo refuge, in the heart of the Gallio Cross-Country Resort,
has a restaurant, bar, toilets, showers, changing rooms, sauna,
double-rooms with all mod cons (TV, phone, music) a large solarium
and an extensive car park (1000 spaces). To the north, just under
Mount Ortigara about 9 km along the shortest circuit, there is the
Adriana refuge at Malga Moline, located in a commanding and sunny
spot and set in a rugged and completely unspoilt environment. This
refuge is a support facility as all the circuits converge here.
Skiing eastwards, on the other hand, you can stop off at the Marcesina
refuge and the Marcesina hotel located in the splendid Marcesina
valley. Further on, right on the edge of the district is the Val
Maron refuge.

The specially maintained winter footpaths can
be used by non-skiers who wish to walk in the unspoilt countryside
(the paths are signposted).

Bobsleighs and sledges are available for hire from
the Gallio Cross-Country Skiing Resort, to be used on the well-maintained
and well-marked circuit.

Service
snowmobiles are used for emergency and rescue operations but are
available for hire for beautiful, unforgettable excursions to the
Adriana refuge at Malga Moline.

A wide range of ski equipment is available for
hire. This includes Slegar skis (a well-known local ski manufacturer),
Salamon shoes and bindings and Fizon poles. Groups and school parties
are also catered for.

There is a special room for preparing the running
surfaces of the skis. Our experts are on hand to give advice. They
also provide a paid waxing and paraffining service.

The
Ski School is open every day
and is located next to the Campomulo Refuge. The teaching area is
right outside. Instructors give lessons based on the most up-to-date
teaching techniques for cross-country skiing.
Lessons are available for individuals, groups and school parties.

Special
courses for children, taught by specialised children's instructors
are ideal for introducing children to skiing and learning through
play.

Before putting on your skis and going on an excursion,
please consult the circuit information brochure. Carefully assess
your strengths and weaknesses (technique, training, stamina etc.).
The brochure is available free of charge. Just ask for it at the
ticket office at the entrance to the resort or at the refuge bar.
At the entrance a signboard shows whether the refuges are open or
closed and which circuits have been prepared and are therefore open.
It also gives advice from our experts on the best way of waxing
skis. An illuminated signboard at the main refuge shows the snow
temperature and the air temperature and humidity. The signboard
also indicates which circuits are open. Do not go on long or difficult
excursions alone; try to stay in company. But if you do go off alone,
please inform the bar at the main refuge. The staff will note down
your name and your car number plate. Remember to inform them when
you return. The circuits close at 5 pm; if you are on the circuits
after this time you could seriously hinder maintenance operations.
Do not underestimate the possibility of getting lost; it may seem
unlikely but it does happen. Remember to read signs correctly even
if you are tired. Circuit maps are located in strategic points with
'You are here' clearly marked. These signs are handily located,
ready to read and they all point north. It is always a good idea
to ski along the circuits in the right direction; some circuits
can be dangerous if you go in the wrong direction. Read the rules
and regulations of the resort and remember to observe them.
